PPL ( Private Pilot )

Here are the requirements to obtain your private pilot license:

  • Minimum age for solo flight is 16
  • Minimum age of 17 to obtain your PPL
  • Current US Passport, or Birth Certificate and Government issued ID
  • Third class medical certificate or better
  • Pass FAA Knowledge Test
  • Minimum of 40 hours flight time including  20 hours with an instructor
  • 3 hours night time Instruction including 1 cross country more than 100 nautical miles as well as 10 take offs and landings at night to a full stop.
  • 10 hours solo flight time including 5 hours cross country (distance of more than 50 nautical miles) and 1 cross country flight more than 150 nautical miles
  • Pass an oral exam and practical test (check ride) with a FAA Examiner
